Infographics: Italy’s tax burden and government revenue since 2000

Stefano Fugazzi (ABC Economics) – In Italy the total tax burden – expressed in percentage of GDP – has progressively increased. Between 2000 and 2006 it averaged 39.8% whilst in the 2007-2013 period it recorded an average rate of 42% peaking in 2013 at 43.3%.

From the ABC Economics infographic analysis reported below, the reader will observe that both the year-on-year and cumulative changes in government revenue and tax burden rates have recorded similar movements.
