U.S. online prices decreased by 3.2 percent on a year-over-year basis in August. On a month-to-month basis, prices increased by 0.4 percent. Prices have now declined for twelve consecutive months, according to the Adobe Digital Price Index (DPI), compiled by Adobe Analytics. Prices are currently at their lowest level in 40 months.

More than half of the categories (11 out of 18) tracked by Adobe online are experiencing declining prices on an annual basis, including electronics and appliances, just like the previous month.

As for food, price increases have continued to slow down. In August, prices fell by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis. This marks the first time in 27 months that prices have decreased on a monthly basis. On a year-over-year basis, the price increase was 5 percent.
